Poetry in Unusual Places: Part 2

hopkins_02Those politicians, they’re at it again.  For the second week in a row an SNP MSP has been quoting poetry in the chamber.  This time the slightly eccentric Christopher Harvie, who represents Mid-Scotland and Fife quoted Gerald Manley Hopkins during a debate on National Parks.

What would the world be, once bereft
Of wet and wildness? Let them be left,
O let them be left, wildness and wet;
Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet.
